4C. Strengthen student voice within the College.
- To engage students more proactively in College decision making and planning processes.
- Stakeholder engaged:
- Leadership Team
Student Leaders Harvey Cordukes (College Captain), Rick Andrews (College Vice-Captain) and Mitchell Gilligan (Head Prefect) took to the stage 11 March 2022, to field more than 40 minutes of questions from the Open Day audience.
They answered a broad range of questions without preparation, including:
- Describe a day in the life of a St Augustine's student?
- What advice do you have for students going into Year 7?
- What does the College do to attract boys that aren't sporty?
- What range of sports does the College offer?
- How does the College deal with bullying?
- What differentiates St Augustine's College from other schools?
- How does the school deal with boys' relationships with girls?
- What are the opportunities for international exchanges?
- How does the College help the melting pot of Year 7?
- How does the College ensure Year 7s don't get lost?
- What does it mean to be a leader?
The students answered candidly and thoughtfully. They did a great job as ambassadors and provided an example of the strength of student voice at the College.
