Principal’s Poetry Competition
The Principal’s Poetry Prize, established in 2018, invites students from all year groups to submit entries during Term 2. This year’s theme, "Restless Search," prompted students to explore topics such as personal growth, the meaning of life, and hope through poetry. Participation in the competition earned students House points towards the Bishop Shield. Finalists from Primary, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior categories were invited to a luncheon with College Principal Mr Byrne to recite their poems for peers and judges.
Young Writers' Competition
In 2023, the Northern Beaches Young Writers’ Competition called upon local students to craft short stories incorporating the theme of ‘promise’. After rigorous evaluation, twenty-four finalists were selected for consideration. Esteemed author Gary Lonesborough presided over the judging process, ultimately bestowing the honour upon Quinn Campbell for his exceptional entry titled “Infallible Memories”. Notably, this marked Quinn’s second victory in the competition, having previously claimed the award during Year 8 for his piece entitled “The Endless Life of a Raindrop”.
