Governance and Sustainability
6B. Develop a more integrated community where stakeholders are connected to the College Vision and Mission and actively engage in the role they play.
- To boost parent engagement in the P&F with renewed enthusiasm
- Stakeholder engaged:
- Parents
In 2024, the P&F Association sought to restructure the committee and P&F roles. Specific class parents were abolished, with a representative assigned for Junior School (Years 5 to 6), Middle School (Years 7 to 9) and Senior School (Years 10 to12). The P&F set up WhatsApp groups for each stage and invited parents to opt in. This is to provide another mode of communication directly between parents, with official College communication continuing to be sent via the app.
A decision was made by the P&F not to appoint a Treasurer and to focus their efforts on community building rather than fundraising.
Two new sub-committee roles were created, with an International Parent Co-ordinator and Sport & Co-curricular Parent Co-ordinator added to the team. It was also determined not to appoint an Event Coordinator, but to share these duties amongst the parent body, depending on the event.
The P&F also decided to update the format of meetings to focus on parental need. Before each meeting, the P&F planned to host a parent learning event and then to conduct a condensed P&F meeting directly afterwards.
In 2024, the P&F continued to drive awareness of this parent association via the school app, social channels, and via the parent community.
