House Captains leadership at the Carnivals – Swimming and Athletic (Primary and Secondary)

House Captains led the chants and cheers in the stalls of all the Swimming and Athletic carnivals. The House Captains do this at the Primary and Secondary carnivals for each, which is a total of four separate days. The competition is fierce and Leadership strong as these events accumulate the most Bishops Shield points for the Houses, and everyone wants to win the shield for bragging rights and of course the picnic day off at the end of the year. These are the days that truly bring Houses together from Year 5 through to Year 12.

Wellbeing Prefect Will Cummins wrote: “The meaning of the Athletics Carnival was not only trying to get the most House points or be the fastest in your heat but being together as a community, cheering with each other and having a good time. It truly brought out our school motto of ‘Vincit Veritas,’ that truth will conquer. We all were honest and truthful, except for how many House points you think you deserved for each race! Finally, we saw how important accomplishment is. This could be finishing the race, supporting your teammate, or engaging with other members of our community.”
