The Educational Philosophy aims to strengthen and enculturate the interdisciplinary model of St Augustine's and the Augustinian teaching philosophy. Intentionally developed in consultation with Teachers, Students and the P&F, the Philosophy document aims to tie together the components of the threads of our mission, vision and values. The Educational Philosophy will launch in 2025 and bring with it a renewed focus on Augustinian education in action – Truth, Love and Community.

Educational Philosophy
St Augustine’s College’s educational philosophy is a set of statements that provides a guided framework to clarify and embolden the mission, vision and values of our educational community.
Principles of learning are usually broad and implicit and are rarely highlighted in a school’s policy or procedure. They are the foundation of the culture of a school, and are aligned with the philosophical underpinnings of the teachings of Saint Augustine.
An educational philosophy embodies these principles, and enables a broader opportunity for understanding, connection and application amongst the community. The St Augustine's College community is diverse and vibrant. As such, an educational philosophy that amplifies the interconnectedness of educational perspectives across all areas is vital to enabling our organisation and community to continue to flourish into the future.

The Educational Philosophy launch has been designed to attain a strong focus on communication and cultural alignment. A social media campaign has been developed to communicate broadly with our community and will launch in 2025.
The campaign includes a launch video that provides insight into the key areas featuring The Principal, Deputy Academic, Students, Old boys, the Chair of the board and staff:
Posters and signage demonstrate a commitment to actively engage the dispositions in all areas of the school.

An academic, wellbeing and student office review of the current report template will continue throughout 2025 to ensure we are aligning our student report with the learning dispositions in each area. Keeping up to date with latest trends in the area of wellbeing and character reporting, Dean of Teaching and Learning has connected with well renowned researchers such as Jim Tognolini from The University of Sydney to ensure contextually appropriate and reliable reporting is able.
