Attendance at Warringah Youth Ambassadors Program to learn of sustainable practices other local schools employed
College Captain Harvey Cordukes and Vice-Captain Rick Andrews represented the College at the Warringah Youth Ambassadors Program co-ordinated by Federal Member for Warringah Zali Stegall.
The program brings together student leaders from local schools where they can voice their opinions and have robust discussions on national and local issues. The meetings are held regularly in Manly and have been well attended by our Student Leaders over the years.
Rick enjoyed this year’s main topics which included: mental health; environment/sustainability; respect; and youth direction/general barriers. Their final meeting for 2022 featured a ‘meet and greet’ with Lisa Blair, the first woman to sail solo around Antarctica. Lisa spoke about her amazing voyage which has been turned into a book; “Facing Fear”. Lisa is a great supporter of climate action, a cause resonating strongly with today’s youth.
