The College's ADEPT (Academic Digital Engagement Program Team) team developed a Tiered Vocabulary Classification AI assistant to complement our efforts to improve boys' writing. The AI assistant analyses a student's writing and classifies each word as either Tier 1, 2 or 3 vocabulary and provides suggested word substitutions that would elevate the quality of a student's writing.

The team also trialled AI tool creation platforms to develop expertise in creating marking agents. These agents provide specific feedback to students and teachers against curriculum outcomes and content, enhancing both teaching and learning experiences.

For teachers, this bot was created to support the marking of large amounts of script in the literacy space. The scripts were analysed for the use of Tier 1,2 and 3 words and quantified for the analysis of project impact.

Bot feedback enabled staff to validate their work and to ensure that the quantification was reliable and valid. The data supported the work in the classroom and show promising data results.
