Action research projects, established as a commitment to share learning on return from IBSC conferences, have produced a body of work that is now feeding back into staff practice — covering retrieval practice, mathematical recall, wellbeing strategies for working memory, and the design of a Rite of Passage incursion. Our staff returning from IBSC conferences in Perth and Boston shared key learnings on the Term 3 Staff Development Day, and staff-led breakfast and twilight sessions on Thinking Routines have given visibility to internal expertise.
Pastoral Care staff have engaged in extensive professional learning, including the Accidental Counsellor course, the Investigators Course (AIS), Identifying Students at Risk, Family Law in Education, and ongoing Counsellors and Wellbeing networking forums. The ADEPT team has continued to enable peer-led growth in AI in the classroom, data dashboards, and the use of low-variance, admin-light learning management systems.
The College’s Leadership Development Program has been highly subscribed to by staff and has provided a valued opportunity for participants to learn with and from one another, as well as from College leaders. The program continues to build leadership capability across the College, fostering collaboration, shared practice and professional growth.
