Communicating Expectations and Values Through Visible, Shared Practices

The College has strengthened its staff onboarding approach through the introduction of structured and consistent processes to support new starters. This includes the implementation of ‘temperature check’ touchpoints during the early stages of employment, providing opportunities for reflection, feedback and timely support. A more comprehensive onboarding program has been developed, ensuring new staff are introduced to key College practices, including RESET behaviour management, which supports a consistent language and approach to student behaviour across the College, as well as the Augustinian traditions that underpin our culture. The College continues to deliver its New Starter Day, where staff hear directly from members of the Executive Leadership Team, building connection and clarity from the outset. A New Starter Dinner has also been introduced at the end of Term 1 to welcome and recognise new staff, celebrate their first term and strengthen their sense of belonging within the College community.

These approaches are complemented by ongoing investment in internal capability, with teams engaging in targeted professional learning and collaborative forums that build shared understanding and reinforce consistent practice across the College.

Targeted professional development sessions in Term 4 strengthened the Pastoral Team's understanding of discrimination law and attendance monitoring responsibilities.

Internal Teams channels are now used to broadcast staff social initiatives, meeting agendas and minutes, and to record and distribute professional learning sessions. This shared digital workspace makes College expectations and values visible day-to-day and reduces reliance on ad-hoc email.
