Promoting Consistent Standards of Behaviour and Building Leadership Capacity

The College's bespoke Leadership Development Program continued to grow throughout 2025. The first cohort formally graduated, the second program ran with 21 staff from St Augustine's and three from Villanova, and a third program was launched for 15 aspiring leaders. Participant feedback has been consistently strong, with strong advocacy from staff for their colleagues to join future programs.

The College has continued the rollout of Predictive Index assessments across staff and student leaders, with growing engagement and uptake. Staff participation has demonstrated a strong commitment to self-reflection, enabling individuals to better understand their own behavioural preferences and consider how they can most effectively work with colleagues. This shared language and insight are supporting more consistent approaches to communication, collaboration and expectations across teams.

In addition, all staff completed the Fair Work Respect@Work training module on workplace sexual harassment, reinforcing clear expectations and consistent standards of behaviour across the College.

Staff have continued to engage in professional development relating to the College student management system, RESET, to strengthen the consistent implementation of behavioural expectations and student support processes across the College. All new staff members have participated in orientation and onboarding programs focused on the College’s behavioural management procedures and practices. Throughout the year, the Student Office has continued to work collaboratively with individual teachers, Heads of Department, and Pastoral Team members to ensure behavioural expectations, processes, and responses are clearly understood and applied consistently.

Development of College e-bike policy

For the College to be confident that the students are riding regulated e-bikes, and are abiding by the road rules, parents of e-bike riders are asked to provide confirmation via a MS Teams form that:

• Their son has, under your specific supervision and guidance, passed the practice L-driver test 

• They have personally read through the specific rules for bicycles with their son.

• The throttle speed is not to be unlocked at any time and should therefore remain ‘regulated’.

• The parent will periodically check that the throttle speed is locked.

• The student and his passengers of whom he is responsible to remind, always wear a fastened helmet when riding the e-bike.
• The student understands that at no time is he permitted to ride on the College campus. He must dismount when entering the school gates and walk in with his bike.

• The parent/s and student understand that any breach of the above may result in the removal of the privilege for him to park his bike at St Augustine’s College.

A sticker will be given to the student that MUST be attached to a clearly visible spot on the E-bike. The student may only park his bike at school once the form is completed and he has the sticker affixed.
